A crowded Q2 results calendar hits Dalal Street on Friday, October 23, with Infosys, Adani Power, BPCL, Bank of India, Coforge, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Godrej Properties and Jindal Steel all reporting their second-quarter numbers for FY27. They arrive with the benchmarks under pressure after three straight losing sessions.
The Sensex closed Thursday at 73,249.39, down 460.30 points, while the Nifty50 ended at 22,687.65, down 123.70 points. The Q2 results season is unfolding against a weak global backdrop: Asia-Pacific markets fell, tracking Wall Street, where the Nasdaq posted its worst session since June, down 2.60% at 26,008.86, on worries about massive AI infrastructure spending.
The session is expected to be watched closely across Dalal Street. There was one early bright spot. GIFT Nifty futures were quoted at 22,864, up 155 points, indicating a gap-up open for the Nifty50 on Friday. Brent crude held near $113 a barrel, adding to the cost pressure on importers.
The quarter under review is the three months to September 2026, the second quarter of FY27. For most companies it captures the festive-season build-up, when consumer-facing businesses stock up and order books fill ahead of Diwali. That makes the October reporting rush one of the more telling windows of the year.
Q2 results 2026: who reports today
The Q2 results 2026 roster for October 23 is one of the busiest of the season. Infosys leads the line-up, and the IT major's numbers will set the tone for the sector. Adani Power and BPCL represent the energy side of the board, while Dr Reddy's Laboratories carries the pharma flag.
Bank of India, Coforge, Godrej Properties and Jindal Steel round out the list. With banks, IT services, power, pharma, real estate and steel all reporting on the same day, the session will give a broad read on corporate India.
Q2 results land as markets wobble
The Q2 results are landing in a nervous market. The Sensex has now fallen three sessions in a row, and Thursday's 460-point drop was the sharpest of the three. Japan's Nikkei 225 and South Korea's Kospi traded lower, following the overnight slide on Wall Street.
The Nasdaq's 2.60% fall was its worst single session since June, driven by concern over how much technology giants are spending on AI infrastructure. That unease has travelled to Asia, and Indian IT stocks will be watched closely when the numbers start flowing.
What to watch in the Q2 results
The first clue comes before the opening bell. GIFT Nifty pointed to a gap-up start on Friday, quoted 155 points higher at 22,864, which suggests the market may look past Thursday's weakness at the open.
Brent crude near $113 a barrel is the other number to watch. Costlier crude squeezes refiners and importers, and it feeds into inflation expectations that the RBI has already flagged as a concern.
Infosys will draw the most attention through the day. The company's commentary on client spending and deal wins usually moves the whole IT pack, and with the Nasdaq selling off on AI-spending fears, every word on technology budgets will count. Bank of India's numbers will be read for asset quality, BPCL's for refining margins, and Dr Reddy's for how the US generics market is holding up. The last concrete marker of the day: GIFT Nifty at 22,864, pointing higher into the busiest Q2 results session of the week.
