T1 electric scooter pre-bookings open at Rs 59,999

The T1 electric scooter is now open for pre-bookings. Bondada Engineering, through its subsidiary Atpole Technologies, has entered the EV market with an electric two-wheeler developed in partnership with Hyderabad startup Thuraga Motors. The two companies used a Dussehra curtain-raiser to preview the T1 and open its digital booking platform. Pre-bookings for the T1 electric scooter are live on the venture's website ahead of a planned commercial rollout in November 2026.

The headline number is the price. The T1 electric scooter costs Rs 59,999, inclusive of GST, a figure that sits at the budget end of the electric two-wheeler market. It will come in blue and green, with optional accessory packs available at launch. For that money, buyers get a 600W BLDC hub motor, a 51.1V 30Ah LFP battery pack and a claimed range of 86 km per charge, with a full charge taking three hours.

T1 electric scooter specifications and range

The spec sheet reads like a machine built for city errands and delivery runs. The T1 electric scooter measures 1,810 mm long, 695 mm wide and 1,065 mm tall, with a kerb weight of 65 to 70 kg. It carries a rated payload of 200 kg and gets 167 mm of ground clearance, drum brakes, tubeless tyres, telescopic front suspension and dual rear suspension. Both the motor and the battery carry IP67 ratings, and the controller is rated IP65.

Those numbers describe a light, simple vehicle. A 65 kg kerb weight keeps it manageable in traffic, the 200 kg payload matters for delivery work, and 167 mm of ground clearance is enough for broken city roads and speed breakers. The 86 km claimed range covers a full day of short trips for most users, though real-world range will depend on load, speed, riding style and temperature.

Why the T1 electric scooter is chasing fleet demand

Bondada wants the T1 in private garages and in commercial fleets. The company says the scooter is targeted at retail buyers and fleet buyers, including small businesses, delivery partners and fleet operators who need low-cost transport. The engineering partnership with Thuraga Motors, the Hyderabad startup, handles the product side while Atpole brings manufacturing. The first sales push will cover Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu from November 2026.

The fleet angle makes sense for a newcomer. Fleet buyers purchase on running costs and uptime, not brand image, which gives a low-priced entrant a cleaner shot at the commercial end of the EV market than at retail, where established names dominate. Pricing the T1 under Rs 60,000 puts the monthly economics within reach of gig workers and small shops.

T1 electric scooter and Bondada's EV bet

The venture says its focus is localised engineering for Indian road conditions and commercial usage patterns, feeding into indigenous manufacturing. Bondada Engineering itself is listed on the BSE and works across solar, telecom, defence and electric motor and controller segments, so the two-wheeler move builds on an existing clean-energy business.

Whether the T1 finds buyers will come down to service and spare parts as much as price. A Rs 59,999 scooter still needs a service point within reach, and fleet buyers in particular will judge the venture on uptime. The November rollout across the three southern states will be the first real test of the T1 electric scooter.
